huwag muna tayong umuwi

Hey there, thanks for opening! How is it already MID-October! How are you hanging in there? As for us, like most people, here we stand: Terrified of Q4 and wondering where Qs 1-3 went. Though we know, right? It's just that—time flies. I have come to this newsletter only once every month this year, so naturally I wish I documented more of this year but all told, I think I did somewhat well, showing up for this year. I hope you're feeling the same way :) and I hope you find something useful here! As always, I am happy to have you around. -k

A colleague pointed this out in our group chat: Kung anong bagal ng August, yun naman ang bilis ng September. Which is true. Taylor sings about August slipping away, etc, but truth be told, if you lined up all the months in the year, fired the starting gun and watched them run simultaneously, September would definitely be among the months to reach the Finish line first (the slowest would probably be January and August? Just me?). Crazy.

In any case: How was your September?! Ours was quick. C was on vacation, so it was a lot like being in two places at the same time, all at once—hers and mine (thank god our timezone difference was not that stark). Still, it made for an interesting month, marked by pretty girls (lol) and good music, mostly.

And so, without further ado, writing this down for the sake of the yearender lol:

things we loved, september edition

  • TWICE promotions - second round music shows (now fortified with Park Jihyo), fan meetings, behind the scenes of their MV making
  • Im Nayeon birthday month - Tommy Jeans, ELLE Korea, etc.
  • Fashion shows galore - Dahyun for New York Fashion Week, Sana for Prada, Chaeyoung for Ferragamo, IU for Louis Vuitton
  • New TTT: The insanity that is a COOKING SHOW. This TTT edition is proof that God is indeed fair hahaha.
  • Rummikub: OH MY GOD a game I actually learned because of those TWICE girlies jesus christ tldr para siyang... mas kumplikadong Tong-its
  • this song by BINI - huwag muna tayong umuwi - utterly obsessed with it, please. hits like 2003.
  • oh wonder in PH! we caught the manila leg of their concert despite the inclement weather and they're SO GOOD. that live rendition of MAGNIFICENT? definitely a highlight of my 2022. their new album "22 Make" is also good!!! lots of favorite tracks, but i also like Little Tigers
