formula of love
Hey there, thanks for opening! The title of this weekend’s newsletter is from TWICE’s new album, which also dropped yesterday. I say also, because we all know what also dropped yesterday: Taylor’s version of RED, with it a ten-minute version of All Too Well, and we have all been on the floor since. Anyway, more of that in this issue, glad you’re here! -K
Personal updates
Week 1 of RTO down, and it was as exhausting as I thought it would be. But I admit it was kind of great to see some of my co-workers again! And one teammate who just recently joined us, whom I met for the first time. Nakakamiss din pala yung over the cubicle sigawan ng quick questions haha.
However, the preference to work from home is still strong. And so, to make the morning commute much more bearable I made myself a playlist. Kinda hard not to dance to it while walking, but it certainly wakes me up!
Speaking of TWICE–
C and I always fangirl as a unit, and lately our single (1) shared fannish braincell is in the TWICE dumpster, and, as can be expected of any group with NINE members, there’s a shit ton of content we’re trying really hard to catch up with.
Anyway, the newest album is a walang-tapon banger, but then so are the others that came before (they came back, like, 5 times in 2021? jfc PERFECT WORLD) :) Our favorite member Jihyo wrote some songs for it, and one of it is about her dead cactus, and it sounds like a Christina Aguilera birit item–About a dead cactus!!! which is hella relatable, because who hasn’t killed a cactus, I mean I have (we accidentally left it out to get some sun, and it fucking rained when we were gone :((( still so damn sorry about that) so yes tl;dr I have one very specific thing in common with this woman and it just has to be this cactus experience.

ANYWAY. Putting this on your radar if it hasn’t been on your feed just yet (which I doubt, but I’ll put it here anyway for easy retrieval)
This is not a drill: All Too Well short film

Oh man, I have no words for how much I have always loved Taylor Swift’s “All Too Well”, and I’m glad we finally got the dancing around the kitchen in the refrigerator light visual, AMONG OTHER THINGS. That ten-minute version floored me, but that is to be expected.
I love the fact that this entire effort took a decade or so in marination; some stories really have ridiculously long gestation periods (me to my wips, probably haha). But seriously, I think some stories just really naturally come out in their own time. This one came out just fine, just in time. tl;dr–Jake Gyllenhaal, what did you do??? HAHAHA.
Next week, we’re still getting a new Adele by the way, so: HINGANG MALALIM NA NAMAN hahaha.
