Dear friends! Fans! Comrades!

I hope this finds you well. I’ve just returned from Alaska where I spent a month working on my cousin Kellan’s fishing boat. We didn’t catch a lot of fish, but we fostered a lot of good vibes and friendship, and did a lot of push-ups, so I’d say it was a big success. I’m enjoying the rest of my summer in Seattle before I start my new job as the school counselor at Montlake Elementary School. I attended Montlake when I was a kid! It is crazy when life brings you in a big full circle. Otherwise life has been good. I’ve been reading a lot, running, and recently I started practicing kung fu, thanks to my friend Paul. It is so much fun being bad at something new.

Now onto some Grebes updates:

I just put out a new song! You can find it on Bandcamp. I’ll throw it on streaming in a few days. This is a demo I made of a song from our forthcoming album (more on that below). It has drum machines and features me playing the drums poorly and I think it is fun and a good song. Some of the lyrics are timely with the current smoke in our skies..

It is Bandcamp Friday today! Bandcamp Friday is when Bandcamp waves all of it’s fees and delivers 100% of sale proceeds to artists. This is a great time to support us. Especially because we are working on a new album, and making an album is expensive! We have to pay for mixing and mastering, otherwise I will try to do it myself and it won’t sound very good.
