In 20 minutes I'm about to head off into the mountains for a few days and wanted to see if I could send off some bullet points (bang bang!)

* I'm in San Francisco and I now believe the best way to explore a city is to RUN and then STOP. As soon as you see something, immerse yourself in it. A mariachi band and a man with 50 roses is a story that needs to be heard!
* Seattle experienced another summer of smoke, the AQI hit 185 and I tried and failed to sleep in the office. Vacuum cleaners are loud.
* Seems to have been the summer of weddings for me (now done). Gaël and I have made our way down to Oregon a few times. I want to be cynical, but just don't have it in me (it turns out I cry at weddings now).
* I was lucky enough to talk myself into a boat race - we finished last 3 of the 4 races. Jack Sparrow, I am not.
* Gaël is in France and it's bumming me out, 3 weeks is waaaay too long.
* Speaking of which Gaël has gotten so big and is talking so much. Before the weather gets to wet I am hoping that I can plan some fun activities just for the two of us together. If you have ideas for a 3.5+ year old I would love to hear them - especially if they involve outdoor activities. 
* I am very excited to spend more time wandering under big leafy trees this fall as they change colors. If you live in Seattle and want to join me on these jaunts - please reach out - let's walk socially and mindfully.
