First things first. This coming Friday to next Saturday (10th-18th) myself and Andrew will be driving from Seattle to San Diego.

We're packing for an ol' fashioned American road trip. There is no agenda beyond breaking bread with good people and being present in big nature. The hope is to stumble into adventure.
I'm bringing this up for the simple reason that if you find yourself somewhere geographically between Seattle and San Diego
you should let me know. Perhaps you know some wild individuals that I should meet - that would be equally wonderful. Preferably looking for those that are mostly feral. And if you've got tips on must-see spots drop me a line. Planning obviously isn't my strong suit, so pointers would be golden.

Apparently is sprinting and doing push ups during recess.
He's on some sort of training kick, which is fun in the morning when we wake up, but I don't really know how to feel about this. I like his passion for dancing and chatting with friends. What's with all this Rocky stuff? This of course is somehow my fault.
Outside of that, we're reading The Ranger's Apprentice and rewatching Avatar the Last Airbender to introduce the show to Shelby. Thematically that may be where the desire to train is coming from.
The most funny thing he told us recently? Over dinner yesterday we asked how a doctor's appointment went and he leveraged the pregnant pause before telling us in his best old cowhand voice:
"Let me tell you, it hurt like hell."

Getting her own therapy practice up and running. On the work front it's exciting to see her take control of her own destiny. Especially over the last few years of having hit or miss managers.
Seeds are being planted and a community is being fostered. Outside of some extremely kind individuals who have welcomed her here, she's found a Yoga studio and class where some good connections have been made. I eagerly await for her to find her brunch group. It's only a matter of time.
"Are you going to tell them I am pregnant? You make me sound boring."
(The pregnancy class is a pre-natal yoga class. Shelby likes to say that she feeds off the other pregos energy - her words not mine. Also the yoga studio is right next to a cupcake shop.)

Got laid off. Contracted Covid. Ran many miles. Biked some. Started writing a guidebook of my favorite spots in Seattle parks.
I've been working hard on trying to push forward side projects. It's been tricky balancing that with interview prep. The actual interview process for software engineering is usually a little divorced from the job itself. I've been lucky to have both good people helping me as well as what looks like some nice options. I just have to close. Trying to maximize both risk mitigation along with hopefully building something that could possibly be profit yielding.
The last few years there have been plenty of false starts when it comes to getting one of these out in the world. I'd really like that to change that.
See you at the beach,
Cowabunga dude,
