Morning runs - already quiet and solitary - have become intensely so. If I leave exactly at 6:30, when I crest the hill the sun will be breaking over the cascades. On clear days one side of Rainer lights up pink and orange, the rest spilling onto the lake. The best days are when I let go and just sit to watch on the dock.
After the run, I bike. Pick a random direction and just go. I try to travel along the lake. Unlike the park, everything is awash with sound. Birds, distant hum of traffic, creaking of bridge grating. If I pass the river I keep an eye out for nutria. They pop their heads up for a second and resubmerge leaving a little wake behind.
Home, I make myself a matcha latte and bowl of oatmeal and chia seeds (which will be lunch). Rhythms of work fall into place. Lunch I train to be stronger. A mix of bodyweight exercises and dumbbells. Drink a protein shake, eat the oatmeal and resume the day. Afternoons go quickly.
Evening comes, it's back on the bike. Try to be extra attentive to little details on the trail. Think about the day, goals for tomorrow and goals for the week.
Return home. Do a mobility routine. Eat meat and vegetables. Read, write, sleep.

Gaël is good. He has gotten into a camp at the Y and spends the day playing. He's happy, anxious to get back to Jiu Jitsu though.
Hope you are all well, that this period is full of good opportunity, connection and reconnection. If I can help in any way feel free to reach out (also very very happy to do video calls these days).
Cowabunga dude,
