Metro justice and animal telepathy

Bonjour!

I haven't written in a while since there hasn't been much to write about. The last month or so has pretty much been more or less routine for us.

Céline takes the agregation next week. It will be the end of 6 hard months of study. If you think of it - send her a note of encouragement. I know she'll do great(I know you are on the mailing list too Céline, I love you <3 xoxoxoxo).

Since she needed the entirety of last week to study we ended up dropping Gaël off at the grandparents this last week. The job of ferrying our boy to and from the grandparents fell to me. There was a mix up with the train tickets and I ended up taking a rideshare back to Paris. I didn't realize that there was a massive protest next to my in-laws and I ended up in a car full of protesters. We passed a lively few hours, topics of discussion included how profit margins work and why shoplifting(and insurance fraud) hurts everyone, the possibility of reading animal's minds, what type of river represents each person's personality. They dropped me off a few miles from our home and the bike ride the rest of the way put me a bit under the weather. All in all though it was quite a lot of fun, it's been too long since I have been able to have those types of discussions.

We enjoyed the week as much as we could. Céline was stuck in books, but I tried to get out a bit. I talked my boss into organizing an after work event and ate many pounds of free sushi. We were able to go on a double date for the first time in months and that was incredibly pleasant just to be out again together.

I was also able to come up with a new strategy in the metro for getting through the hallway. When I get off the train first, there is usually a mass of people coming the other way. This week I was tired and someone bumped me hard on the shoulder for like the 500th time, so I ended up reacting instinctually. That is, I took my umbrella and held it like a lance. And the sea of people finally parted. Questionable strategy? Maybe. Best strategy? Yes.

Gaël is doing good. He runs around all the time. He is way way curious. Like curious george on steroids. No not steroids...what is something you can say a hyperactive child is on? Like curious george on pixie sticks. Lots and lots of pixie sticks. It's fun, even if it does erode your sanity.

Aloha dudes,

DJ
