A lil' fall update
Hello out there. It's a cold and windy day here in Seattle. The leaves are turning all sorts of shades of reds, oranges and yellows, still clinging to the trees though. My Mom is in town and between her, myself and Shelby we are all baking up a storm. Also soups - it's definitely soup weather.
The news from my end is pretty quiet. I'm enjoying a more low-key month and spending extra time with Shelby and the baby. We're trying to squeeze all the sunshine in before the fall rain. That means lots of walks and explorations of local parks. It's currently raining once or twice a week, the moisture is coming.

I'm still commuting to work in Bellevue so I'm bracing myself for another winter of pedaling through the elements. Even though this is a bit tough, I love that I get to interact with nature in a very raw way on these trips. It still gives me time to reset and reflect, although the two hours it takes is getting to be very expensive! Considering buying an electric bike.
Outside of that the only other thing to report for me is that I'm returning to my childhood love of basketball. I am slower, weaker and can't jump, but I still love the game. Every time I find a little run it just feels great, I just need to get a pair of decent shoes as my body feels like it is made out of glass. I've been trying to play in a pair of old running shoes.

For the rest of the family:
Shelby's business is starting to get some traction which is really exciting. She is still fostering community through the yoga studio and little neighborhood events. She's still crushing a huge amount of books and taking advantage of the Seattle Public Library. We've been able to do a few couple trips this fall and are looking forward to doing more in as much Tommy allows us.
Gaël is continuing to rapidly acquire social skills and navigate new challenges of 4th grade. It's a tightrope of figuring out the right extracurriculars and opportunities to make friends. He still is ok cuddling sometimes and loves to spontaneously attack us with wrestling matches.

Tommy is doing wonderful although currently in a sleep regression. Very much enjoying the little baby phase with those big eyes full of wonder.
Hope you are well, since it's been a while maybe just write a few lines with how you and your family are doing? I love hearing from all of you,
DJ
