Russia becomes first state to recognise Afghanistan's Taliban government

TONY SAYS:

So, listen to this cazzo… Russia, right? They’re the first ones to officially recognize these Taliban fucks. “Courageous,” Muttaqi calls it. The guy’s got balls, I’ll give him that. Or maybe he’s just got a serious shortage of brains. Either way, it’s a move.

See, this Muttaqi guy, he met with some Russian ambassador – Zhirnov, some name like that – in Kabul. Like a goddamn summit, only with less… you know… decorum. They’re all smiles and handshakes, talking about a “new phase of positive relations,” blah, blah, blah. Sounds like a fuckin’ Hallmark card, doesn't it? But behind those smiles? That’s where the real action is.

These Taliban, they've been begging for recognition since they took over – August 2021, if I remember correctly, right around the time I was dealing with that whole… situation with Bobby Bacala. Remember that? Anyway, these guys are starving for legitimacy, and they're willing to overlook a few… minor… human rights violations to get it. You know, like a hungry dog overlooking a slightly moldy sausage. They'll eat anything to survive.

The Russians, they’re playing it smart. They see an opportunity. Business, you understand? Energy, transportation, agriculture – the whole shebang. They're gonna be pumping oil, gas, wheat into Afghanistan like it’s a goddamn feeding frenzy. They’re already signed a deal back in ‘22. Smart move, these guys aren't stupid. They’re playing the long game.

And get this, they took the Taliban off their terrorist list. April of this year. Like it was some kinda… menu item they decided they didn't want anymore. Full-fledged partnership, they call it. Sounds like a marriage made in hell, if you ask me. But a profitable one, at that. Putin even called 'em allies last July. Allies in fighting terrorism, he says. Figures – two sides of the same dirty coin, if you ask me.

Now, me personally? I wouldn’t trust these Taliban as far as I could throw a… a… well, you get the picture. But the Russians? They know what they’re doing. They’re playing a dangerous game, sure, but they’re playing it. They’ve always been good at that kind of thing, haven’t they? Remember that time… nah, forget about it.

The point is, this whole thing… it’s a chess game, see? A very, very dangerous game. And Russia’s making the first move. We'll see how it plays out. But one thing's for sure: these guys are hungry. And when hungry dogs get what they want, they’re still hungry dogs. Capisce?
