How to make the most of your day? ☀️
How to make the most of your day?

Have you ever felt that you are constantly on your heels, not being able to get all the things that need to be done, finished off and ticked off? ✓
I am currently in this place in time, where there just aren't enough hours in the day to complete and produce everything that is happening at work and also on the projects I am currently developing…
Just to give a quick update:
1. I am now the Creative Strategy Director at Poppins Agency in London, where I am responsible for the brand and marketing strategy output from the agency, in addition to scaling the offering to our growing client base.
2. My first book, Brand You Economics, has received great reviews, and I am very pleased with the way the book has made an impact already. I would of course want the book to get into more peoples hands, but it will happen in time…
3. The biggest project is the masterclass I am creating at the moment because I realise it is sorely needed, and I managed to add a lot of value, structure and tools in the book, still, I realised that it just scratched the surface for those that really want to build a brand, be it a company or take a position as an influencer
But more importantly — I guess I am not alone in being overwhelmed with a massive to-do list, and things to get done — how can we manage all, and gain clarity and control.
→ I came across a quote this week that resonates quite well in this situation because it is not about finding motivation… but about creating habits, aka discipline.
So what are the habits and tools I use, more specifically my morning routine?
1. I always make my bed, as the first thing I do after waking up 🛏
2. Then it is a delicious cup of coffee, together with a big glass of water, where I sit down and write my journal, focusing on the things I am grateful for, some positive affirmations, and reflections of the day that passed and what could have made it better ☕️
3. Plan for the day: Making a to-do list of the top 3 tasks that have priority, and if they have subtasks, then I’ll add them, but not more than 3 - so that it is manageable and not too overwhelming 📖
4. Recap at 16.00, where I look through the to-do’s and “renegotiate” with myself; if I am behind; not able to complete some, or add more tasks if I have completed what I set out to do for the day. 📆
5. Every Friday I take 90 minutes for a weekly review; going through the week that was, and the week that is coming, and prioritising the tasks that need to be tackled or that fell behind from the week that was ⏳
I need to improve my routines.
What I want to add to my routines is to add time to read more, to keep myself updated and up to speed on what is happening in the world of branding, advertising, strategy and marketing. Honestly - with everything going on, I accept the realities that there just isn’t enough time for it all. Right now I am ok with managing the job, the projects of creating a masterclass, and also the fact that I am writing my 2nd book (more on that later) and just taking a few hours a day to enjoy my off time with my girlfriend and family.
What are your needed routines to manage your day? What tools do you use, what discipline have you implemented to be productive and maintain your work & life balance (if that even exists)?
I would love to hear your thoughts and ideas on what you do.
We can learn from each other, and the only constant is change. I want to learn, improve and make things better, and I am sure some of you brilliant people have inputs that will be of value to me and this great community. 💪
