How to build your reputation?

There is always somewhat of confusion about what is a brand and what makes a brand. I know I have mentioned it many times over in this newsletter, but I think it is ok to be repeated, “a brand is a person’s gut feeling about a company, product or services”.
📌 If you break it down, when you meet someone, given they are part of your network, be it personal or business, you probably have heard about someone before meeting them. → Which all comes down to how much value they have built into their reputation. Granted, you shouldn’t judge a book by its covers. At the same time, if you try hard to do things well, being a person that displays empathy, patience, ambition, gratitude, kind candor with the people around you, you are investing and building reputation and trust.
🤝 Trust is built by constantly delivering on your promise, as well as delighting your customers with experiences that meet and exceed their expectations.
Fact is, this is the hard part of running a brand. Because it takes effort, time, and genuine passion to build the right reputation for your brand, shortcuts will not get you there. ❗️ If you cheat or try to bend the truth in the hopes of profit, failing to deliver on your promise — your reputation, which you’ve spent years building, can be torn down in a second.
➡️ Another simple way of saying this is: the easy choices will make it harder for the future, and the hard choices will make your future easier.
Invest time in your reputation - and you'll see that your brand will be better for it in the long run. It will be hard, but that only makes the reward so much sweeter.
