telos.haus September Newsletter
Hello friends,
This month we’re reflecting on ritual and repetition. As the seasons turn each year, our monthly rhythms at telos are taking root. The cool breeze on our roof tells us fall is coming—and with it, the close of telos’s first year.
the return of open.haus (this Friday)

This Friday, we’re bringing back open.haus, our monthly free coworking day at telos. Come work at our communal tables and enjoy the rooftop sun! Our friend Austin of Very Cool Ice Cream will be serving vegan ice cream to share, with pints available for purchase.
Together with our new Lunch Talks, open.haus marks the start of regular programming designed to bring our community together. Capacity is limited, so please RSVP here.
Lunch Talks, a new series

I first met William while he was helping build out last month’s Dear All, exhibition at telos. During our chat, I learned that he was the growth manager at Checkpoint, a company whose photo booths keep popping up across the city—from Komune to Bungee Space to Secret Riso Club, places we’re lucky to share community with.
A casual plan for Karen and me to share lunch turned, mid-week, into an impromptu design talk with the Checkpoint team. Over pizza, we heard how their project grew from a college idea into a startup with photo booths nationwide.
This past Friday, filmmaker and photographer Ethan Tran joined us to reflect on his creative journey and navigating the film and social media worlds.

We’re excited to announce that Lunch Talks will now happen every two to three Fridays, free and open to the public. Guests will come from across arts, design, tech, and F&B—send us your suggestions for who you’d like to share a table with.
Our next talk is Friday, October 3rd. Make sure to add our events calendar and follow us on Instagram to keep up with when these are happening.
Rituals and routines

We’d like to highlight the community organizers who host some of our favorite series at telos: aci-d club, Work In Progress, The Tea Stand, Ultralight School, and many more.
As fall begins, these weeknight programs are some of the best ways to experience the space after hours and connect with fellow members and friends. Our next event will be tea.haus 005 on September 25th.
If you or someone you know is interested in starting a workshop or club, please let us know! We’re especially looking for new educational programming in this next telos chapter.
Friends of the haus
We’re excitedly building a “friends of the haus” page to showcase the members, collaborators, and friends whose creative and technical talents have shaped every telos experience. Until then, you’ll just have to meet them here in person.
As always, we are grateful for every pair of feet and set of hands that have touched this space in the last few months. Come see us again soon.
