1. AI-enabled cyberattacks now account for 25% of all data breaches — a 50%+ increase in 12 months, a coalition including OpenAI, Microsoft, KPMG, and Citi warns. More.

3. Amazon is building Project Tetromino to fully automate its delivery stations using AI-driven conveyor and storage tray systems that automatically sequence packages for vehicle loading, with a Last Mile Innovation Centre now open in Germany to test the technology at scale. More.

4. The Dutch Data Protection Authority issued its second-largest GDPR penalty after finding Uber suspended driver accounts through automated AI systems without adequate human review, setting a binding precedent for any company using AI in employment decisions affecting EU-based workers. More.

   
   POV: Audit every AI system currently used to make or influence employment-affecting decisions, and confirm each has a mandatory human sign-off step.
   
   Something to keep an eye on: Researchers can shoot a “probe” beam at a new deflection angle, surpassing previous electronic means, opening the door to hyperspeed computation.
