People's Consultation on AI recap, Busferret at Civic Tech Toronto, and a new ally in the fight for Canada's digital sovereignty.

A special round of thanks for our hosts 1RG for providing a venue for our gathering. Photos from the event will be posted on our Mastodon, Instagram and LinkedIn! Make sure you're following us on these platforms.

New ally on the radar: Canadians For Digital Sovereignty

TfD recently connected with Canadians for Digital Sovereignty, a newly incorporated non-profit advocating for reducing Canada's reliance on American digital infrastructure. We've been following their work since their open letter last year, and we're exploring what future collaboration might look like, especially with the upcoming by-elections and an AI Minister based right here in Toronto Centre. Where do you think Canada's digital sovereignty gap is most urgent? Cloud infrastructure, public services, health data, something else? Reply to this email, or get in touch on Mastodon, to let us know!
