Trash and yard waste removal
Dear Neighbors,
Some of you have contacted me regarding our Fairfax County trash removal services. Most of us received a mailing dated March 27 when new restrictions were placed but updates are difficult to find. I thought I’d share some information I received when I contacted the county, with links to more information.
County yard waste removal will remain suspended until the public health emergency is over. Please refrain from placing yard waste in the street where it may block drains. An easy solution for grass clippings is to spread them when cutting instead of bagging them and it’s better for your soil. Please do not leave grass clippings on the sidewalk- they become very slippery when wet. Recycling and Trash Notices

All solid waste must be placed inside the containers for removal. While glass is still no longer recyclable in our bins, the special purple glass recycling containers are again available for drop off. The location closest to us is at 431 Mill Street, NE Vienna.
