TCA Annual Meeting Postponed

                    
                        Dear Tanglewood Community Association Members,

It is the decision of your Board of Directors to postpone our annual meeting, usually held in January.  A quorum of 25 members is required for us to conduct business and that is not possible with the current state limitations on gatherings of more than 10 people. The main purpose of the annual meeting is to elect board members and approve the budget. There are currently no new issues that require attention by the general membership.

Please know that your officers, board and committees are continuing with business as usual. Our treasurer, Sam Logan, has prepared a draft operating budget for board review that comes in under last year’s budget and, if approved, will be offered for member approval at the annual meeting. The board is recommending maintaining annual dues at the current level.

We have discussed the possibility of conducting the annual meeting via Zoom but have concerns that some members might not have the access or ability to do so. I would be interested in hearing from any of you who would object to a Zoom meeting and would prefer to delay the meeting until warmer weather when we could conduct our meeting outdoors and socially distanced. Please send your comments to president@tcavienna.org . Another option might be a Zoom meeting giving members an interactive forum for questions concerning the budget or other matters, followed by a mail-in vote.

We appreciate the work of our member volunteers who give their time on behalf of our community. Some have been serving for a long  time and would be happy to step aside if someone else would like to have the opportunity. We are seeking a board member to represent  Zone 4 (Rhapsody, Concert and a bit of nearest Abbottsford- zone map on website). Sam Logan, Treasurer, would appreciate an intern to start working with him to make sure we have continuity in that role. Our Secretary would like to retire. Lisa Grant, Park Committee chair, would like to invite anyone interested in joining the Park Committee. There are also openings on the new member welcome and events committees. Just today, our expert chair, Gino Tognotti, offered advice to a member who was ready to undertake a project that might have been acceptable on the association level but would have violated county regulations. Thanks again to Gino for being such a valuable resource for us.
