Tanglewood Security Alert
Please be aware that two members have reported unauthorized car entries overnight on Riviera and Tanglewood. Those of you who were living here in the summer of 2021 may remember we had a rash of such events county-wide. Please remember to keep your cars and home locked. Shine a light on neighborhood safety and keep some lights on, particularly the lamp posts, as the association requires.
I have learned from our past experience that even if your car doors are locked, thieves now have a device that can intercept signals from some car manufacturer’s key fobs from inside your home. Also, if your key fob is close enough to your car all the thief needs to do is touch the car entry for access with some brands of cars (some manufacturers allow you to disable this feature). Storing keys further from your car or even in a simple metal can help prevent key fob signal entries.
Of course, I would like to be informed of any crimes or summer mischief in the neighborhood but, if you have had anything of value stolen, please report it to the police first. I have learned that these reports are very helpful if I need to ask for increased surveillance of our community.
With wishes for a happy and safe summer,
