Suspicious activity
Hello Neighbors!
I want to alert you to some suspicious activity in our area. This morning I was informed that a member who lives on Corsica Street reported that her unlocked car was entered last night. Yesterday, a wallet was found at the corner of Corsica and Riviera. With some great teamwork and a special assist from Sam Logan, I located the owner who lives on Rocky Branch a few doors down from Vale and Corsica. The wallet was stolen from her car.
We have asked both parties to report the incidents to the police. When I ask the police for extra surveillance of our neighborhood this can really help. If you experience any intrusions, please let the police and me know. If you see or hear something suspicious in the middle of the night, please call the police.
In particular, if you live on Corsica or Riviera, please be extra vigilant and be sure to lock your doors. It would be helpful to shine a light on the problem by having a working lamp post as required in our by-laws and also keeping your porch lights on to deter crime. I’m embarrassed to say I returned from vacation to find my lamp post is not working and I can’t get an electrician to fix it until August 24 so I upped the wattage on my porch light.
.
Working together, I hope we can prevent a repeat of last summer when we had 17 car intrusions and a car theft over a 3 week period. If anyone on Corsica or nearby Riviera has a surveillance camera that might have caught someone walking by or trying to enter cars in the wee-hours the past 2 nights, I would surely appreciate your help.
Thanks and be safe!
