Vol. 50 - Holy Crap there are 50 of These!!!

Happy anniversary to me!!! Got thoughts on notes, myself, a bunch of movies and music, and a link to a game website on horses!

Wow!!! Despite weeks, sometimes months of inactivity, there are now 50 newsletters in the Taniyn Quest repository.

This is kind of a big deal for me! Almost 3 years ago when I switched from a traditional blog to publishing a Digital Garden through Obsidian, I was actually really scared about it being a flop for me. Granted, that’s a silly fear when I’m not making a profit off of my writing (or any money at all really), but I pride myself on setting personal goals that I aspire to reach for my own creativity.

I worried that switching would destroy my pace of writing and that no one would want to read my stuff — but both of those things are untrue! I’m writing more than ever, and I actually have double the subscribers I used to, which is a dub in my book.

I don’t really have anything special planned for this 50th issue, other than the yapping you saw above, but I will simply say: thank you for being here and reading! I never expected even one or two people to read what I write, so I appreciate you for reading my silly little thoughts. Thanks again!

Okay stuff tiiiiiiime—

Interesting Stuff

The Best Electronic Music on Bandcamp — July

If you want to find music, then Bandcamp is always a fine place to start. Let me push you along with a bunch of sick electronic music from last month!

The Mane Quest

It’s a website for horse games! Share with the horse gal (or guy or nonbinary pal) in your life.

Obsidian Pets

Someone put vscode pets into Obsidian. There is zero utility to this plugin, so of course I installed it immediately.

6 Hours of GameCube Menu Music

I use this to write all the time now. I have the .mp3, but here’s a YouTube video you can use too!

Planted Recently

Lots of writing about ways of working lately, dunno why! Hope it’s helpful though.

A Day and You
I wrote about two questions my therapist asked me that have really helped me out lately: “what does a productive day actually look like to you” and “what’s good about you?”

A Good Note
I love Obsidian and writing and note-taking, but I think Productivity Weirdos™️make note-taking feel very obfuscated while simultaneously being the secret to unlock the powers of Gods or whatever. So I wrote about what I think a good note actually is, why you’d write them, and how to not let them bog you down.

In my Sonic the Hedgehog voice: WOO! FEELING GOOD!

I’m thinking about finally starting up a Plexamp Server. I can’t remember if I’ve brought it up here, but if I have then you can tell I’m thinking about it because I brought it up twice, lol. I already have a HD and DAS that I’m thinking about so I’ll probably act on that later in the year when I’ve got hella downtime IsA.
