A Request Related to Titles and Thumbnails
Hello!
I will have more surveys and other focus-group related material soon, but for now I have a request.
You may or may not know that on YouTube, video Titles and Thumbnails are extremely important. They are basically just as important as the content of the video itself (Whether that is a good thing is a debatable topic). YouTube's algorithm is much more likely to suggest a video to more people if its title and thumbnail has enticed a lot of people to click. A good title and/or thumbnail can literally make or break a video - it can be the difference between 10k views and 1m views.
It may seem that big YouTubers just take a photo with an exaggerated face and throw it up, but for most professional YouTubers; a lot of research and planning goes into titles and thumbnails.
I am interested in what kinds of videos entice you all to click. So my request is, if you see a title and thumbnail that really interests you, makes you curious, makes you really say, "I've gotta see that!" Can you show it to me? Especially if it's from a channel that you don't already watch regularly.
You don't have to go out of your way to find interesting titles and thumbnails, but just in your normal YouTube sessions if you happen to see a really interesting title and/or thumbnail, and happen to remember this email, just shoot a link over as a reply to this email or to hello@the1janitor.com. If you already have some videos in mind that fit this description, you can send those links as well.
Of course, if you don't feel like it, there's no obligation or pressure, but keep it in mind! Thanks.
