Sycamore Press March 2024: Spring Fever?!
Don't worry -- I haven't fallen ill. But my allergies are acting up, because blossoms and sunshine abound this time of year! If you're still sheltering from the cold, you don't have to be jealous of me for too long. We all know what summer has in store for me here...But enough about the weather anyway! Let's get into it!
"I thought I was going to yawn, so I got ready with a "yawn whenever you want" mouth, and then I sneezed. How could I mistake a sneeze for a yawn? I had opened my mouth too wide, and I heard myself sneezing with a boom like I'd never heard before."
General Life Updates
I spent much of the past month hopelessly stressed about grad school stuff. On account of some very dedicated writing efforts I've made since then AND overcoming a big experimental hurdle (as confirmed just earlier today under the microscrope), I'm feeling quite a bit better. Even when it did seem like my world was on the brink of collapse for one reason or another, I couldn't help but give myself permission to bask in the nostalgic feelings that this nice weather and sunshine give to me.

In other news, I recently acquired my New Favorite Thing: a diner mug. While these can be legitimately obtained through stealth, I sadly had to resort to console commands (read: a coffee shop supply store) to get mine. Still, it is highly durable. It is the platonic ideal of "mug." And, to allow for optimal work coffee enjoyment, I got Two Of Them.

Food & Drink
Hmm, well, I'm drinking a Miller High Life right now. It feels perfect for this Spring-like weather! Sadly, I don't have pretty pictures of my latest culinary creations -- for the most part.

Arts & Intertainment
I was really busy all month, so I didn't see any movies, sadly. Music-wise, I've been in my Fugazi era. In particular, I've been spinning (well, not actually spinning -- I'm a digital boi) their final album The Argument lately. I'm also really excited for the new Still House Plants record coming out this year!! As always, the deets of my listening can be found on my Last.fm for readers who truly have nothing better to do.
Creative Corner
I've been really into making zines lately!! Tell me what I should make a zine about!! Would you like me to make a zine for you???
Also, I promise I'll have a narrative, multi-panel Sycamore webcomic for you soon. In the meantime, I was inspired to draw our heroes enjoying (well, Claire not so much) some warm weather.

Reflections
I dunno. I just want to be outside. And then come back inside so I can cut up some radishes or peeled broccoli stems for a crunchy and slightly bitter snack. I want to go home. I want to be around rivers and trees and freaks. I want to see bugs. I want to drink cheap beer, to be vulnerable, and to be understood. I want to buy and drink so so much pu'er tea and then blog about it. I want you to write to me -- not now, just whenever you can -- and tell me how you're doing and what movies you want to make me watch with you the next time we're together. I love you I love you I love you!
Anyway, see you in...(*checks calendar*)...APRIL?!
