🧘 Year in Review 2021
This is the third time I’m making my annual review public!
What went well?
- I continued journaling (wrote 224 entries this year compared to 302 entries in 2020).
- Continued focusing on health. Lost the weight gained in the pandemic, mostly by a combination of calorie deficit and walking 5k steps.
- Read 39 books (compared to 50+ in 2020) sustainably.
- Set up my blog on Wordpress.
- Started a reading community.
- Ran a friendship experiment.
- Started a podcast.
- Finally crossed the 10kg mark on my adjustable weights.
- Hired two people to help with scaling up.
- Started learning Procreate by following tutorials - it’s mad funnn!!
- Explored many cool hostels and checked off a lot of items on my bucket list, some unintentionally.
What didn’t go well?
- Made an iOS app for journaling but failed to monetise it.
- Wanted to pay for a part-time MBA from my company’s profits but didn’t make that much.
- Got back to short hair again. Looking back, I liked longer hair more.
- Someone I was nurturing to lead an experience-of-its-kind backed out when we started moving from ideation to execution!
- Got addicted to black coffee in the mornings.
Learnings
- Your experiences are what make you unique.
- Life is an RPG where we keep trying to classify others as NPCs and search for another player like us! This is comforting and scary at the same time.
- Extreme Milk Chocolate > Double Rich Chocolate
- Baby Shark is catchy.
- Life is too short to have regrets and lowering expectations is the key to a happy life.
