🎲 Slice 'n' Dice

Some tips on making steady progress towards your goals:

  1. Slice and Dice
Want to do 100 push-ups? Set a goal of 50 first.
If that's too difficult, aim for 20!
  2. Keep pushing your limits
"The Goldilocks Principle states that humans experience peak motivation when working on tasks that are right on the edge of their current abilities. Not too hard. Not too easy. Just right."
Use it to your advantage, by steadily increasing the difficulty of your next goal to lie in that sweet spot of challenging, yet achievable. Don't fall into the trap of thinking you hit your limit. A limit is just a mental barrier that your mind subconsciously restricts you with.
  3. Develop a Winning Streak!
It's easier to keep going once you have some momentum.
  4. Measure, Measure, Measure
You can't improve what you don't measure.
Keeping track of what's working and what's not is what separates hard work from smart work.
e.g. I use Telegram and my Touch Bar to keep track of things like my newsletter subscribers, folks who paid for our next community meetup, etc. Quick Access to Relevant Metrics
  5. Seek Feedback
This is one of the most underrated things ever. Getting feedback from pros in the relevant domain will accelerate your progress exponentially. Make a conscious effort to reach out and get feedback from people whom you admire.
