Library Grab-N-Go!
Library Champion,
Big news: we have re-opened starting this week and allow patrons into our main lobby/vestibule. We have been ready for months, having installed sneeze guards around our entire front desk and setting up the layout of the library to ensure everyone socially distances. We hand out gloves and masks if you need one.
The first person inside the library in MONTHS is Elizabeth Book (rocking the great University of Pittsburgh hoodie where she got her library science degree!!)
It has been so nice to have visitors inside the library! To be honest, we get lonely sometimes and miss seeing each of you. A guardian angel sent us a care package this week:
We know how valuable the library is to our community. While are doors have been closed to the public, you can still access everything we offer. Be it handouts showing our new releases to borrowing hotspots so you can take the internet with you to viewing storytimes online when the time suits you. We have ensured you can access the library while you and your communtiy remains safe.
As I mentioned a few weeks back, nothing is more expensive than free. What is free to you is not free to the library. Supporting your local library keeps great services like borrowing books for free available so that you and others can save money.
Here is one book I am reading and one book you need to keep an eye out for.
-
The Standoff by Chuck Hogan:
The nine-day siege of a white supremacist’s fortress cabin in the Montana mountains is the focus of Hogan’s absolutely smashing debut thriller. Next on my list will be Prince of Thieves, which was the basis for the movie The Town. -
A Time for Mercy (book #3 in the Jake Brigance series) by John Grisham:
Jake Brigance is back! The hero of A Time to Kill, one of the most popular novels of our time, returns in a courtroom drama that showcases #1 New York Times bestselling author John Grisham at the height of his storytelling powers. (Release date: October 13, 2020)

A final note from the Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Juniata County Library want to express our heartfelt thanks for all your support during our September Grab and Go Book Sale! WOW! We sold all 152 bags of mystery and romance paperbacks.
With your purchases and DONATIONS, we were able to purchase THREE Chrome Books for the Library to loan out. We had no idea if this book sale would be a success or not but you came through big time! Thanks again. You are the best!
PS - Keep an eye out for another such type of booksale in the NEAR future!
