Borrow a mobile hotspot ๐
In need of affordable, high-speed internet? Or do you want to take the internet with you on your upcoming trip?
Check out a mobile hotspot at the library for only $10 for 2-weeks, $20 for 4-weeks or $60 for 3 months!
What is a mobile hotspot? Itโs a portable device that provides a Wi-Fi internet connection. Itโs perfect if you live in an area that canโt get broadband internet or if you donโt have a data plan on your cell phone. Hotspots are also great to have if you want to go on a trip and take the internet with you.
Hotspots will work with laptops, tablets, phones, TVs and most other devices that can connect to a Wi-Fi internet connection.
Thanks to the Friends of the Library we were able to purchase 5 more hotspots, bringing our total to 33!
Book of the week! โ if you are going to read one book, give this one a tryโฆ
The Third Victim (Robin Lockwood series #1 by Phillip Margolin)
(Adult fiction: legal, thriller, mystery) ~ 320 pages
Available formats: regular print and large print
In a nutshell: Phillip Margolin was an attorney before becoming a bestselling author, and he uses his legal expertise to supreme effect here.
A woman stumbles onto a dark road in rural Oregon --- tortured, battered and bound. She tells a horrific story about being kidnapped, then tortured, until she finally managed to escape. She was the lucky one --- two other women, with similar burns and bruises, were found dead.
The surviving victim identifies the house where she was held captive and the owner, Alex Mason --- a prominent local attorney --- is arrested. Although he loudly insists upon his innocence, his wifeโs statements about his sexual sadism and the physical evidence found at the scene, his summer home, is damning.
Regina Barrister is a legendary criminal defense attorney, known as โThe Sorceressโ for her courtroom victories. But she has a secret, one that threatens her skill, her reputation and, most of all, her clients. And sheโs agreed to take on the seemingly impossible task of defending Alex Mason.
Robin Lockwood, a young lawyer and former MMA fighter, has just left a clerkship at the Oregon Supreme Court to work for Regina Barrister. The Alex Mason trial is her first big one, a likely death penalty case, and sheโs second chair to Regina. Increasingly, sheโs worried her bossโs behavior and the details in the case against their client donโt quite add up.
Bottom line: โThe Third Victimโ is New York Times bestseller Phillip Margolin at his very best.
