Also new is the look of our online card catalog. Many years ago, we moved the index cards in our card catalog to the computer and made them available for searching as you would on Google. Our catalog recently received an update, giving it a fresh, clean look with easier-to-notice buttons for clicking and nice colors. You can visit our catalog at https://juniata.chilipac.com/ or our main website https://www.juniatalibrary.org and on any page is a search bar that you can use to search our catalog.
Speaking of our catalog: The Juniata County Business and Professional Women (BPW) donate a book in honor of Business and Professional Women's Week every year in October. BPW concentrates on issues and or people that are relevant and empowering to women as well as young girls. This year, BPW donated "Grace and grit: my fight for equal pay and fairness at Goodyear and beyond" by Lilly M. Ledbetter and "The women behind Rosie the Riveter: working for the U.S. war effort" by Pamela Dell.

On our online card catalog, you can search for the terms "BPW" or "National Business Women's Week" under the search type Digital Bookplate to see all the titles BPW has purchased and donated to the library in the past. Here is a list of the titles we have from them from the past several years:
2020: "In the Company of Women” and "The Kindness Diaries" - 📸 Donation photo
2019: "A woman's crusade: Alice Paul and the battle for the ballot" by Mary Walton - 📸 Donation photo
2018: "Princesses save the world" and "Princesses wear pants" by Savannah Guthrie - 📸 Donation photo
2017: "Power of the purse: fear-free finances for baby boomer women" by Lynn Evans
2016: "Equal means equal: why the time for an equal rights amendment is now" by Jessica Neuwirth - 📸 Donation photo

Winner winner! 🎉
Why should kids have all the fun with summer reading? Our adults take part in summer reading here at the Juniata County Library and those who completed the challenge entered to win the grand prize: a Kindle Fire tablet. Congratulations to our winner this year Rose Wise! Thank you Rose and all those who took part in the program this summer! Keep an eye out for the details on adult winter reading coming in December!
