π Penn State Master Gardeners children's pizza party TODAY 08/15 from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM
Library families - don't forget about our August children's garden workshop this afternoon! Families can drop in between 4:30 PM and 6:00 PM to make some tasty pizza using veggies and herbs from the children's garden.
We have had a lot of fun this spring and summer with the Master Gardeners and we thank them for all their experience and the education they brought to our library families. Look for more workshops to come in the future!
πΌοΈπ FREE Folk & Traditional Arts Apprenticeship at the Library
In partnership with the Pennsylvania Council of the Arts and with funding from the Office of Commonwealth Libraries the Juniata County Library is proud to offer 3 FREE folk & traditional arts apprenticeship programs in August and September.
1) Friday, August 23 at 7:00 PM: Erica Shellenberger and the mighty 61/49 will be doing a free demonstration program of Folk and Blues music at the Mifflintown Playground band shell (located in Myers Park, next to the library.) Bring a blanket or a lawn chair. Feel free to bring the kids!
This won't be a traditional show/performance. It will be very interactive as they discuss the different styles of Folk and Blues and then demonstrating those different styles. It will also include a question & answer. No registration is required!
2) August 26 to September 20 by appointment: Digitally back up the music you have created. Work one-on-one with Vince Giordano (director of the Juniata County Library) and make sure your work is preserved for future listeners. Vince will personally work with you and use computer and online resources to store, catalog and preserve your music. Make an appointment: https://bit.ly/digitalbackupJCL2024
