Sunray ☀️ December '25 Happenings

Friends,

This time of year, many of us are thinking about giving back. We encourage you to spend some time over the next month or two finding a way to contribute that feels meaningful and sustainable for you.

As we reflect on the past year, we’re deeply grateful for all the projects we’ve had the privilege to support—and for everyone who has shown up alongside us. In the last six months alone, nearly 100 volunteers joined our work days, and we truly cannot thank you enough.

To show our appreciation, we’ll be putting together goodie bags and a few other small perks for those who volunteer with us on community-focused projects in the coming season.

In other news, we’ll be teaching an online Regenerative No-Till Gardening Systems course at Yestermorrow Design/Build School this spring (and maybe some in-person courses), as well as Power Tools 101 and Organic Regenerative Gardening at Hudson Valley. More classes and workshops are in development—and if you’re receiving this newsletter, you’ll be the first to know when registrations open.

A few months back … what an amazing thing to have such good friends joining together to do some good work in the community!Extra thanks for the young folks from RPI who have supported the Refugee Welcome Center gardens multiple times over the past few months.

If you are at Honest Weight, feel welcome to pick up a fresh copy of the Coop Scoop, where you find an article by Rich entitled Quiet Giving in the Garden. You can also read it online here.

Kids Gardening & Nature Club was “For a Cause” and we baked organic sugar cookies for the free food fridge! What a great time. Our friends at Albany Buddhist Sangha’s Children’s Dharma school came to help, and are coming to help again this month!

Today is Giving Tuesday!

If you are looking to support some great community work, please consider giving a few dollars to the Refugee Welcome Center this Giving Tuesday! You can donate here: https://www.rwcwesthill.com/donate
