Fall board elections: How to participate

Dear community,
Sugar Labs will be running an election this fall for three seats on its board of directors for the 2027–2028 term. Sugar Labs community members are encouraged to participate.
This fall, we're running an election for three of the six seats on the Sugar Labs, Inc. board of directors. Devin Ulibarri, Sebastian Silva, and Sumit Srivastava have terms expiring at the end of 2026. Walter Bender, Krish Pandya, and Samson Goddy have terms expiring at the end of 2027.
Receive your ballot
We encourage all Sugar Labs members to vote. The combined membership and ballot application to receive your ballot, due by the end of day on November 13, 2026, is here: https://forms.gle/dqErq4xGSyPj1r6o7.
The sole qualification to vote is to be an active participant in the Sugar Labs community. This could include raising issues, submitting pull requests, writing reviews, blogging about Sugar Labs, contributing to outreach, or participating in other community activities within the past 12 months.
Running for a board position
Serving as a board member is a great way to help shape the future of Sugar Labs. If you would like to run for a board position, please add your name and statement to the candidate list at https://wiki.sugarlabs.org/go/Oversight_Board/2027-2028-candidates.

Candidates should create a wiki entry, one entry per candidate, with a maximum length of 1,500 characters sharing their vision and motivation. Candidates should also read and understand the terms of Sugar Labs Inc.'s Bylaws, as well as any domestic and international laws governing participation in a US-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit board.
Election timeline
The timeline of the election is planned as follows, with the deadline to receive combined membership and ballot applications on November 13, 2026, and the deadline to vote on December 11, 2026.
