let's get doomscrolling on monday!
Hello!
Happy Saturday :) To readers in the south of England: yay it's stopped raining for the first time in about 12 hours!
I've got the first outing of my new WIP Doomscrolling on Monday! It's part of Mark Watson's brilliant online Access Festival with NextUp Comedy.
Check out the round-up in the Metro in the left-hand column below (it might help to open image in new tab):
Lovely stuff.
I've written this version of my show for online, so it's much heavier on the interaction and multimedia and quizzes etc. than the live show will be later this month / year.
More info on Doomscrolling at Access Fest here: https://watch.nextupcomedy.com/videos/access2023jan16
And how to watch: https://nextupcomedy.com/access/
It should be a fun hour-ish of silliness and fun and wailing at the state of the world, so do watch if you can. The interactive elements are still accessible if you're in the Zoom room but prefer to have your camera off and stay a bit anonymous, although it's more fun if you show your face! I promise not to be mean about anyone's interior decor.
If you're interested in seeing Doomscrolling live, the first show will be at The Bill Murray on 29th January, and yes I will be frantically rewriting it to make it work for the stage. Somehow. Come along and help me figure out if it's working: https://dice.fm/event/ko2lo-suchandrika-chakrabarti-doomscrolling-wip-29th-jan-the-bill-murray-london-tickets
Other things I've enjoyed this week:
Access Festival: I was delighted to see The Covid Arms reopen, and I liked the very different shows by Bilal Zafar, Sarah Keyworth and Stuart Laws (should all be available for catch up soon on NextUp Comedy)
Bristol (the city of), always a treat
Prince Harry, his reading of Spare on audiobook and the epic press tour (I've been TikToking about it so help me lord)
Impatient Productions on Twitter
The 1923 mid-season cliffhanger!!!!! Please give Helen Mirren all of the awards asap ta x
That's all for now. I've got work to do.
Thanks as ever for reading, I really appreciate it x
