RecTalk (Rec Room Text To Speech)
Yep I am back on working on biiiiiiiiiiiiiig circuits. How big?

This is the CV2 for RecTalk. A Rec Room text to speech that uses phonemes.
I don't want to go too far into detail as I am currently working on a video about this and dont want to spoil the entire video here but to make the loop simple to understand:
- Split string into an array (Hello world -> ["Hello","World"]
- Check to see if the word at i (item 0, Hello) is in the dictionary. (to simplify this explanation let's just say it is), fetch it from the dictionary
- Split the phoneme pronounciations into an array (HH EH L OW -> ["HH","EH","L","OW"])
- Get the sound at at j (item 0, HH) and play it on the audio player
- If saying all the phonemes is done, go back to step 2.
Keep in mind this is a way oversimplified version of the way RecTalk works, i didnt even include phoneme guessing or number to words.

NEW UNANNOUNCED PROJECT!!! (except if u follow my insta)
Ever since I stopped working on Rec Room servers, I wanted to try to make another game server. But for what game?
I mean I could do another Rec Room server but there's already so many of them in existence. Unless I can do something new. Nah.
Roblox? Nah.
What other game is there?

It might seem random to make a server for a game that nobody has heard about, but this is actually something I've wanted to do since like 2020 lol. If you've known me since early 2020, you would know I used to grind this game a little too much.
Breaworlds is a game that used to mean a lot to me (before a server data reset happened in 2020). I thought it would be cool to get a version of the game online from around the time I used to play. Luckily for me, I had the perfect client for that! This, is 2020 Breaworlds, on a custom server, called GoldenBedrock.
I've gotten a lot of the surface stuff done, Breaking, placing, multiplayer, but none of the stuff like world ownership or locking tiles yet.
I do plan to make the server source code public in the future, but right now it's not really ready to be open source. I'll post more information in future NewZletters when I get more done.
April Fools' (TheRecRoom BTS)
I wrote an entire newsletter for April 1st but never published it. Whoops! To make up for it, I'll just copy and paste the stuff i wrote for TheRecRoom into this one.
So if you haven't seen my April Fools' video, you should watch it since it kinda flopped (130 views) which made me bummed since i put 2 weeks of effort into that video.
It was based off of one simple idea: "What if Rec Room was released in 1999, but was like AOL Instant Messenger?" This should explain some design elements, like the program being a sidebar-like thing and the game being it's own window.
All the 3D was done in Blender, the actual program was written in Visual Studio 2005 (ran on Windows 2000 because 98 was too unstable), and I did my own VHS conversion!
All the textures were taken from Baldi's Basics because those textures worked perfectly for what I was going for; a crappy 90s 3D game (gave me an excuse to be sloppy with some elements as well :p)

I figured out image billboard-ing in blender but you can't notice it in the final video so here is a close up of it in action because i am proud of it
That makes 3 years in a row that I have done something for April Fools. But now what will I do next year..?
