We play Saturday at 12:15 CT

And other bracket reactions aka "brack reax"

Our bracket is… fine?

Jesse Newell gave it a “D”, and I can see the logic behind that grade—we’re in Gonzaga’s regional, which is a less-than-fortunate draw no matter who you are. KU’s odds for the natty are +4200. USC, who KenPom has ranked ahead of Kansas, is a less-than-fortunate draw on the six-line, but USC hasn’t really played anybody and a lot of the buzz there has to do with the (admittedly awesome and sky-walking) Evan Mobley. They’ll also have to play a play-in winner who has nothing to lose at that point, which is a situation I would dread if I was USC.

KU got the best 14 seed draw and the worst 6 seed draw. Jayhawks, if USC advances, should be a round of 32 underdog. Also being in Gonzaga's region not ideal either. So rough overall for Jayhawks.

I don’t think anyone is scared of Iowa on the two-line.

I’ve read that if KU had been able to play UT in the Big 12 tournament and beat the Longhorns, they probably get the three-line that WVU has in the Midwest regional, which appears more favorable. I may be ground down by the chaos of the past year, but KU could put some games together in their setting and despite some initial 😤😤😤 feelings I’ve cooled down substantially.

Jayhawks tip on Saturday against Eastern Washington, who can’t defend anybody, at 1:15 ET/12:15 CT/10:15 PST. They play at Indiana Farmers Coliseum—a friend of the newsletter Andrew W pointed out that the Beatles played there in 1964. Here’s to a tournament like no other.
