If Brett Yormark books Rihanna for Late Night we'll stay in the Big 12 + Big ol' KU media dump

I promised this post for last Friday, but then Roe came down and my mind was elsewhere. Please consider donating to an abortion fund in your community or network, and Kansan readers, please VOTE NO to the amendment currently on the ballot. Everybody deserves reproductive rights—their bodies, their choice.

Ochai and CB are officially Leagued. I always find the initial rookies-related social push by NBA teams to be… somewhat unimaginative, but I admit that I enjoyed what the Cavs and Nuggets were posting in the 48 hours following the Draft.

Just a great shot there. That smile! My dude knows when the camera is on him:

Before I get to the direct CB stuff—CB is much, much less photogenic than Och, thus the Nuggets degree of difficulty is way way higher—let’s start with this absolutely incredible interview with the Nuggets scouting VP, Jim Clibanoff. Let’s just say… this interview Checks. All. The Boxes.

This is an electric interview. Denver’s VP of scouting Jim Clibanoff says Christian Braun has “big cojones” and much more. #KUbball

You absolutely knew we were getting some Dorothy content, and the Nuggets got it over with:

I trashed it at the time but the VLONE t-shirt and Neo glasses from Championship Night would have been an iconic “entering the locker room for the first time” look… respectfully, you can’t take offense if I say “respectfully!”

Summer League starts Tuesday. Free agency starts tonight at 6 ET. More like the ONseason, am I right? Thanks Robert K for that joke I totally stole it from you.

SOURCE: The Big 12 is targeting Brett Yormark, Roc Nation’s COO, to become its' next commissioner. This was first reported by @RossDellenger. The 55-year-old Yormark previously had been an executive with the Brooklyn Nets and NASCAR.

Pretty interesting! My first thought was “what are the Late Night implications?” Could Yormark book Rihanna for the banner hanging? The Roc Nation music roster gets the mind racing. We gotta get J. Cole, very least… let him hoop in the scrimmage!! Peak ENTERTAINMENT.

Yormark’s reputation with the Nets was, well… he was not exactly beloved. He’s known as a ruthless businessman, and the Brooklyn Nets started out as a pretty soulless product and Yormark was a part of that. He loves money! I’ll give him that!

Really, this is a fascinating hire. It’s a sign that corporate America feels that the financial ceiling of the NIL era is much higher than what has been projected so far, and getting an exec from the entertainment world feels like a strikingly bold move, especially as he takes the reigns from Bob Bowlsby, a career steward whose whole vibe was kind of “Derp de derpity der.”

But let’s ask the most important question—how will Yormark treat Kansas Basketball? Is he here to focus on football, or will he consider KU hoops one of the conference’s biggest assets? If KU is intent on moving to the Big Ten, will Yormark advocate for a university that doesn’t really want to stick around? Intrigue abounds! Hook us up Yormark!

Just a big dump of Remy workout pics I have saved on my phone

I am so happy David McCormack is getting an opportunity with the Wolves. Remy next please!
