my urethra's favorite toys & more

Happy Friday! Are you ready for the weekend?

I have a new blog post, all about some of my very favorite sounding toys! Of course, none of them were actually intended for urethras...

Recently I answered a question on reddit about why I've decided to take my chances with gelatin in my bladder, but I still avoid sugars as much as possible. The person asking wrote, "Have you considered sugar? It will dissolve slower. As with gelatin I am not sure on how it is on the microbial side. Both obviously provide energy for bacteria, but depending on the sugar content of the general urine it's easier to deprive them of sugar than of peptides in that area."

My answer was, "If we think of the bladder as a microbiome that's similar to but slightly more sensitive than the vaginal microbiome, it's quite well known that sugars cause bacterial imbalance in vaginas, whereas gelatin appears to be relatively safe, at least in small amounts- it's commonly used in vaginal suppositories."

Thanks for reading! I'm delighted that you're interested in keeping up with my adventures.
