Holy-days
There are just five Sundays left in 2024.
Five opportunities to slow down, step back, and reconnect with what matters most. Five chances to honor the sacred rhythm of rest and renewal—a rhythm woven into the very fabric of creation by God.
What if you set aside one of these Sundays to be truly sacred? Not just a day off, but a day to pause. A day to let go of striving, to breathe deeply, and to allow your mind, body, and spirit to reset. A day to listen—to yourself, to the quiet, and perhaps even to something greater than yourself.
Throughout time, people have honored the idea of a Sabbath—a day of rest. It’s not about following a rule; it’s about finding a rhythm.
Rest reminds us that life isn’t about constant achievement or endless doing. It’s about being.
It’s about aligning with the deeper truths that often get drowned out by the noise of everyday life.
This Sunday—or one before the end of the year—could be your moment to reconnect with those truths.
Turn off the distractions. Step away from the busyness. If you can, spend time outdoors, where the world feels quieter and more expansive. Walk, reflect, journal, or simply sit in stillness.
Let yourself feel the freedom of not having to do anything or be anywhere.
There’s a reason we feel so drained when we’re constantly moving and striving—it’s because we’re not meant to live that way. Rest is how we recalibrate. How we realign with our purpose. How we listen for the whispers of clarity and wisdom that only come in stillness.
As C.S. Lewis put it, “We live, in fact, in a world starved for solitude, silence, and privacy; and therefore starved for meditation and true friendship.”
Sabbath—however you define it—is about filling that emptiness. It’s about reconnecting with yourself, your values, and the bigger picture of your life.
So, I challenge you: pick one of the remaining Sundays and make it sacred.
Call it your “Day of Pause” or “Sacred Reset.” Block it off and guard it fiercely. Use it to rest, reflect, and reset your soul for the weeks ahead.
You have five Sundays left in 2024.
Take one for yourself.
Step into it with intention, and let it remind you of what’s truly important. I promise that you’ll finish the year with greater clarity, peace, and the capacity to embrace whatever comes next.
Here’s to finding the space to breathe and be fully present.
