Day TwentyOne: A fair fight.
Some fights aren’t loud. They don’t look like yelling or swinging or standing on a stage.
Some fights are quiet. Hidden. Internal.
Like fighting to believe you matter.
Fighting to ask for what you need instead of pretending you’re fine.
Fighting to stay open when it would be easier to shut down.
I’ve come to see that asking for help takes more courage than pretending you don’t need any. That naming your needs out loud is one of the bravest things a person can do.
Because here’s the truth: most of us were never taught how to fight for what we need.
We were taught to be nice. To not rock the boat. To take care of others and ignore the ache in our own chest.
But you can’t live like that forever.
Eventually, something cracks. And in that crack, something sacred shows up: honesty.
Not the kind that needs a spotlight. The kind that says, “Hey, I’m not okay. And I don’t want to do this alone.”
That’s a fight worth showing up for.
It’s not selfish to fight for rest.
Or connection.
Or peace.
Or truth.
It’s holy.
Because life isn’t about pushing through and proving your worth.
It’s about knowing you already have worth, and living like it.
That means showing up for yourself the way you’d show up for someone you love. It means saying, “This is what I need,” even if your voice shakes. And, it means letting the right people meet you there.
That’s the kind of fight that heals.
Mantra \ Prayer:
I am brave enough to ask for help.
