Day Six: Change.
Almost half the people who reach out to me for coaching aren’t looking to get slightly better.
They’re desperate for change.
They’ve hit a wall.
Something’s off, something’s stuck, and they can’t keep pretending it’s fine.
Here’s the truth:
Change is possible.
Here’s the other truth:
It’s a fight.
Not a motivational-bumper-sticker kind of fight.
A “drag-yourself-out-of-bed-when-your-soul-feels-heavy” kind of fight.
Research says it takes 66 days to change one behavior. Two months of daily resistance for one small shift.
Not everything can be hacked. Not everything will bend to your will.
You want to know why change is so hard?
Because fear is loud.
Because pain becomes familiar.
Because you’ve built a life around keeping the real you buried.
Here’s what I know:
Shame doesn’t lead to freedom.
Quick fixes don’t heal wounds.
The wrong people will wreck your progress.
Small steps feel stupid when you’re hurting, so you skip them.
Deep down, you don’t want to let go, because even your suffering gives you a sense of control.
You don’t trust anyone enough to let them see the mess.
And worst of all, you’ve started to believe this is all you’ll ever be.
I’ve believed those lies, too.
Still do some days.
But I also believe this:
The truth will set you free, if you’re willing to face it.
Mantra \ Prayer:
Change is possible. It starts inside me.
