Day Four: Mirror-Moments.
“The kinder and more thoughtful a person is, the more kindness he can find in others.” Tolstoy nailed it.
It’s not just true of kindness. It’s true of love. Friendship. Gratitude. Hope.
We see the world through the lens of what’s going on inside us. If all we see are jerks and assholes, chances are we’re showing up like one. Brutal? Yeah. But in my experience, true.
On my worst days, everyone looks like the problem. But the truth is, I’m the common denominator. Yessiree. It’s me. Frustrated. Self-centered. Trying to bend the world to my will.
That’s when I know it’s time for a reset. Not to wallow in self-pity, but to recalibrate. Reconnect with who I want to be. Recenter.
I want to be kind. Honest. Generous. Humble. A friend worth having. Someone who leaves people better than I found them.
What about you?
If you’re not loving what you’re seeing around you, take a look within. Because what we notice outside reveals what’s going on inside.
Real change starts in the mirror. Every. Single. Time.
Mantra \ Prayer:
Let me see with clear eyes.
Lead with a tender heart.
And live today as the person I was meant to become.
