Tina Fey, tilt shift, and dreamy French electro

Hi all — it's been a quiet week. This afternoon I'm enjoying watching the snow fall out the window, listening to the radio, plugging along on small tasks.
❄️
I have two very different podcast episodes to recommend this week:
➔ Tina Fey on Las Culturistas, hosted by Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang. It's just fun.
➔ Rhaina Cohen on the Ezra Klein Show, about how our society is calling out for a collective redefinition of close kinship, and a more expansive understanding of what it means to be someone's parent, friend, or partner.
🎧
Some bric-à-brac:
➔ When Stephen Colbert took over the Late Show in 2015, the show's new theme song played to opening credits that gave New York a tilt-shift look. The tilt-shift montage is long gone, replaced by a more conventional intro, but it popped into my mind recently. It should be obvious why I like it so much!
➔ Paul Journet in La Presse states clearly what Denis Coderre is doing as he launches his frontrunner campaign to become leader of the Liberal Party of Quebec: it's a hostile takeover of a political party desperate to regain relevance. It remains to be seen whether following the unpredictable lead of a media bloodhound like Coderre will, in the long run, be helpful to a party in need of rapprochement with francophone Quebec.
➔ Fred Nevché is a poet and musician from Marseille who specializes in dreamy electro. He has a new album out, including a music video for his single that is just fun to watch.
🏎️
Have a great week.
