May: Project Meet People
Hey, I’m back.
Obviously since last time, I had my daughter, and that’s been keeping me busy. But that’s not why I’m writing. How have the first 5 months of 2024 been treating you?
I was talking to a friend the other day who is planning his next career move. He has a longer time horizon (12 months+) but is laying the ground work now. What that looks like is a lot of informal meetings with different people to learn about their company, role, etc. He has no idea what he wants to do next.
I’m in a similar boat.
I was inspired by what he was doing and am declaring this the Summer of Meeting People™. I am going to try to meet 30-50 new people - specifically those who are doing interesting things. They might be founders, builders, creators, or any number of other things. So, my dear reader, if you know of anyone who fits the bill that you think I would enjoy talking to, please hit reply and let me know. They can be anywhere in the world!
Of course why should they want to talk to me? I need to hopefully be just as interesting to them. Usually my work at TKS is enough, but I’ve also been tinkering on a few other things. I wrote about that in January, and have since moved on to a few small things. I’ve been prototyping a couple new mobile game ideas and very slowly learning graphics programming on iOS so I can build my Generative AI x Art project.
Aside from that I’ve been trying to establish a new routine as a parent while trying to find as much time for my own continued growth. It’s been more successful than expected.
I hope you’ve been well.
