⨠New Blog with Starplot Examples

I just started a new blog about creating maps of the sky with Starplot. Iām planning to cover upcoming astronomical events (e.g. meteor showers, comets, eclipses, planet conjunctions, etc), and write about other stuff related to mapping the sky. Most posts will also include the full Python source code for creating the plots.
Check it out @ https://starplotting.com/
Plotted above is the upcoming path of Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) āļø
š Coming Soon
In the next minor version of Starplot (v0.17):
Custom star catalogs
Custom sky cultures (constellations, star names)
Improving API around label collision-handling
š Help Wanted
Want to help make Starplot better? Here are a few things we need help with right now:
Sources for various sky cultures (ideally constellation lines defined by the HIP id of the stars)
How to calculate BV color index from Gaia EDR3 data
Adding an arrow-plotting function
Investigating issues with running Starplot in a Jupyter notebook
