Congressional Democrats' report found Trump's pharma stock holdings rose to up to $56.2 million as his 2025 law shielded drugmakers

On October 16, 2026, the Democratic minority of Congress's Joint Economic Committee released a report finding that President Trump's pharmaceutical stock holdings grew from a maximum reported value of $1.7 million in 2024 to as much as $56.2 million at the end of 2025, based on his annual financial disclosures. The report said up to $39.1 million of that was held in companies whose drugs benefited from a provision of the 2025 Republican tax and spending law, signed by Trump, that expanded exemptions from Medicare's drug price negotiation program. The White House said Trump's portfolio is managed by independent third-party institutions and denied any conflict of interest.
