This weekend in Stamford: a farmers market at Harbor Point, sip and paint downtown, and the calm before Summer in the Park

Morning, Stamford. This is the quiet weekend, the one that sits between the Fourth and the three weeks of concerts about to take over Mill River Park. Harbor Point runs its summer program straight through it, the Town Center has an art night, and the smart move is to enjoy the calm before the crowds arrive. Here is the plan.

Best for families this weekend: the Broadway Bound Junior showcase on Friday and the Harbor Point Farmers Market on Sunday, both easy wins with kids in tow.

Thursday, July 9

Barre on the Boardwalk at the Harbor Point Boardwalk (South End). A low-impact 50-minute full-body class on the water, followed by a stretch, part of Harbor Point's standing summer fitness slate. All levels, adults. Eventbrite.

Summer Knights at The 203: Sip and Paint at the Stamford Town Center, 100 Greyrock Place, 5th floor (downtown). A guided painting night at the mall's art space, a drink in hand and a summer canvas to take home. 21+. Eventbrite.
