End-of-life care for beloved pets
a webinar in honor of Satomi's good life and death
Hi again dear reader,
I’m writing to you with more information about my upcoming webinar this Sunday, 12 October 2025. I know many of you are overwhelmed and overloaded at this time, so at the very least, this message is a virtual hug and reminder from TCM to drink and eat warm these days.
This is a particularly painful anniversary for many of us who grieve the loss of Palestinian life since the start of the genocide in Gaza, committed by Israel with full support of the US. The grief is stacking and we’re learning tools to deal with its weight in real time. The Palestinian struggle has been happening for the last century, but the fact that this abhorrent, violent onslaught can endure for so long despite its real horrors has shattered any last bit of faith and trust we had in our current systems, our cold-hearted governments. We are being transformed into new creatures from all this grief. But about 250,000 people marched in Amsterdam yesterday and it fills me with so much hope. With steady mindful effort we will create (we are creating) something new in our lineages of love and liberation.
I'm hovering around the portal of another anniversary too, my cat Satomi’s death day. In fact, while I was sitting in meditation the other night, I felt the fabric of my shirt readjust near my lower back and I immediately thought it was her. The sensation followed from some force of the fabric's weight falling and my brain and body recalled in an instant how it felt exactly like how Satomi used to nudge me with her head. The encounter was so strong that my body filled with heat and I was brought to tears. There she was again. I still feel her in my wiring after these three years without her in physical form.
Without a doubt, living with and loving Satomi has profoundly shaped who I am. She is responsible for teaching me what it means to care. So, in honor of her death anniversary, I plan to give a webinar on end-of-life care for pets designed to provide educational and holistic support for companion animals and their caretakers. Because our pets mean so much to us, their deaths can be emotionally devastating. We all deserve reverent care.
Please forward this message to anyone you know would benefit from it. For those who can’t make it live but still would like to receive this offering, a replay of the webinar will be available to those who register.
Love and solidarity,
Staci

We'll cover the realities of care-giving and assessing quality-of-life during this tender time in ways that help you feel intentional and grounded in your decision-making. We'll explore euthanasia, preparing for death, and saying goodbye, as well as options for body disposition, memorial ideas and ways to celebrate the love and life that you share, and grief care that can be considered ahead of time.
This webinar is for those with a senior or terminally-ill pet who would like to create a thoughtful and well managed end-of-life care plan that helps alleviate stress, avoid hurried decision-making and allow for more special and loving moments with their companion animal.
