Spiritworks Reflections Feedback

Dear Reader, thank you for your thoughtful feedback on “Beginning Again” Reflections  I’m finding that you appreciate the free verse style that makes them a quick read. Here are your emails from the past few weeks. Warmly, Tricia

Reflection #51 The Toxic Myth of Hard Work

Finding that "self that endured beneath it" is a phrase that stands out. Hopefully that self prevails and grows, not just endures. But each week is different. -F

This poem captures so much of my heart, Tricia. Thank you for sending it.

Yes, I will sign up for Spiritworks. –J

Reflection #53 Aging and the Media

I especially like these words...

it is a widening path,
a deepening of presence.

It is time of "calming", even though we do seem to become "invisible" in some ways to others. I fluctuate between being at peace with that, and other times wanting to yell, " Still here! Pay attention." Words written by a very wise woman 😘 – H

I loved the poem you sent today. In a previous message, you said that we'd get to meet each other someday - I wanted to mention that I came with C to your house when you had a reception for your mom.

I'm her friend who has the family link to The Bridge to Hope - we help a village in Rwanda -- Zaza, via our cousin who grew up there. I bought one of your mom's books to give to the group but haven't had a chance to get together with them recently. R and his wife and 3 daughters went to Zaza over Christmas. Just today, Facebook posted these old photos as reminders -- I attended the event on Spring Hill and enjoyed it a lot.  The photo of me holding the bowl against my chest made your mom and me laugh together - It looked like half a bra! a colorful one! ;-) -C

Very uplifting Trish. Thank you -J

Refection #55 Walking Toward the Light

I too am ready whenever I am called home. I've put my scriptures, music and other information needed by our family for both me and my husband. Ready to let go of fears, anger, and seek forgiveness and eternal peace. I’ve had a good life; there are always regrets and sadness when I think about family members left behind. but there is also joy and life. Thank you again for sharing. I love your reflections. - J

Nice! Letting go is key to so many of our experiences. -F

Patricia: This is especially helpful to me right now. Thank you. -P

I love this and genuinely feel the same way. Letting go frees us to be open to new journeys and adventures. More importantly we grow in understanding, purpose, and new connections that mean something. It’s hard to let go of things that had meaning. Blessings and love, K

This one really needs some discussion my friend!! Are you free for coffee, lunch sometime??? And yes, to the Carnegie International sometime! And our dear Bear? – H

Reflection # 56 Freedom, Illumination and Grace

Absolutely beautiful. If everyone lived a life following your third stanza, what a world it would be 😘 - H

Reflection #57 Harvesting

That sounds like a nice celebration. I remember my official retirement day with the Church. Another colleague and I retired that day. It was the end of a mtg. with a quiet announcement. A few people spoke about the colleague. Someone realized there was no one that was going to speak about me & quickly gathered some brief thoughts & said a few kind words. I hadn't been active with the more recently, because I worked a good while doing addiction counseling. Half the crowd (or more) didn't remember or know me. It was a deflated balloon day for me. -F

Tricia, I needed this today! Thank you!-D

Almost sounds like annual conference these days:) -J

My Dear Tricia....Annual Conference will be filled with smiles, memories, friendship, celebrations and a reminder of the past-life well-lived.  In my mind, heart and spirit I'll be with you! Love, D

Tricia, Congratulations on your official retirement! How wonderful it must be recognized for your 50 years as a ground-breaking spiritual leader. You were so young when you started and now, to be able to pass the torch to a new generation must fill your heart with joy! I am so happy for you! With Love, -D

👏 Sent from my iPhone - J

Love that Trish. You should put them together in a book. Beautiful - J

Reflection #58 Forgo the Drama

Beautifully stated, my Friend. I'm printing this out to remind myself to Forgo the Drama. It might take a while since I haven't been practicing lately! Love, - D

Hi Tricia! Your brief...deep...meaningful 'aging murmur' touches on the reality I've been living since retirement.  Following your formal 'stepping beyond' with AC retirement this past weekend you may find, as have I, that memories begin taking on greater value. Your photo at the top is truly 'You'...and those you shared from Annual Conference were appreciated!  (The only thing missing was....me.) Always in my heart and on my mind with love and thanks-giving,--D
