Beginning Again

Reflection #18 Our Better Selves

Now, not later,
I pause—
I ask:

Do I love enough?
Do I marvel at others?
Do I let joy rise
in their presence?

This life calls me to—
love tenderly,
love compassionately,
for nothing matters more.

I open my soul,
my hands,
my eyes made kind.

I embrace
what I hold dear,
walking free of fear,
radiant with affection.

We dream of this—
to be light,
to be warmth,
to be the friend
others wish
to draw near.
