Reflection #31                   Holding the Field

I no longer give of myself
as I once did.
Instead, I find myself
“holding the field”—

For years I carried the weight—
plans, meetings, lists,
This year,
Others “do” and heavy lift.

I turn from effort
to invitation,
from managing outcomes
to making room.

My work is presence:
a steadiness that says
“You are safe here,
find what calls you.”

Releasing control
has been a long loosening,
a slow passage away
for something new to take shape.

I may not know the road ahead,
yet, I am not lost…
but, becoming the person
whom I was always meant to be.
