Reflection #30  Rooms of Your Heart

I’ve come to see
that happiness is a quiet invitation—
a request to give my attention
to what is life-giving
and release what is not.

Today, I invite us all
to move through our hours
with a softer cheer,
to tend our lives
with a kinder touch.

Begin with the simplest truths:
let go of pleasing too quickly.
Lay down the slights
the put-downs,
the patience spent on those
who do not cherish it.

Say no—
gently, clearly—
to what your spirit cannot carry,
and do so without apology.

Notice what fills you,
what drains you,
what brings you home
to yourself again.

Remember the quiet joy
of simply being.

Return to the mercy
of an unhurried afternoon.

Say yes to an open breathing heart,
to whatever brings light back
into the rooms of your heart.
