Beginning Again - Reflection #22: Changes

Changes, I’ve learned
arrive in many ways—
sometimes sudden,
sometimes chosen,
sometimes without ceremony.

At first, it seems not a gift.
But a package left on my doorstep
Feeling heavy, unasked for,
reluctant to open.

But slowly, gently,
The box is opened
The wrapping comes loose.
Deadlines fad, reports vanish.

In their place—
a new spaciousness.
A chance to pause,
To breathe,

Yes, it is unfamiliar, tender
To learn worth
Not measured by output,
But rooted in being.

And, in this space--
A gift of time.
A gift of possibility.
A gift that asks: “Who are you now,
beyond what you have done?”
