Reflection # 10: This Barren Place
Beginning Again: This Barren Place
In this barren place
I pause, not in retreat
but in readiness.
From dreams stored in quiet corners,
I begin again—
not to fill what is lost,
but to live alongside it.
When one thing vanishes,
a space appears—
holy, empty
inviting
the slow unfolding
of something more true.
A different compass rises
within me:
not youth, not status,
but deeper things.
The quiet strength
of service.
The joy
of simplicity.
The relevance
of a moral life.
